Milana Family Foundation Case Study

Since its inception, The Milana Family Foundation’s mission has been to raise money and awareness for charities that benefit children in need. They have been actively involved with the De La Salle School, and have provided scholarships for underprivileged young men to attend both the private high school, and then college.  They have also been staunch supporters of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, Smile Farms, Cohen Children’s Medical Center, The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, and Stop Abuse.

While they will always remain loyal supporters of these outstanding organizations, The Milana Family Foundation is excited to launch their own initiative – Man Cave Health whose focus is to raise funds to promote awareness about, and most importantly to combat, prostate cancer.  This disease affects approximately 1 in 7 men, but there was one diagnosis in particular, that had a tremendous impact on their family.  In April of 2016 Thomas Milana, Jr. was told he had prostate cancer.  As Tom navigated his way from diagnosis back to wellness, he increasingly saw the need for more awareness about men’s health issues, and so Man Cave Health was born.

Online Shop Integration

The website was meant to not only inform but engage its audience. Incorporating a fully functional woocommerce system built on the WordPress platform, acts as a portal for those looking to make donations or purchase tickets to their events. With Woocommerce it allows integration of the shopping cart and checkout all within the website. This provides a better user experience than third-party tools that push people to a different website entirely in order to complete a transaction.
